HEADS UP
The Jewmanity program, based in San Diego, is designed to insulate soldiers and their loved ones from ongoing trauma in Israel. We provide a week-long retreat of psychological treatment and recreational therapy.

Heads Up is an eight day rehabilitation program fostering healing and resilience through therapy and community. It is designed to specifically support Israeli soldiers, widows/widowers, families, and other loved ones suffering from PTSD. The program aims to provide a safe and insulated environment, away from the traumatic events back home, in addition to comprehensive psychological care.

DAY 01 / ARRIVAL & GROUNDING
Day One is about arriving, grounding, and setting the stage for healing. The soldiers will be welcomed to their new environment, where they’ll have time to settle in, meet their hosts, and receive an overview of the program. The day will also include an introduction to the goals of the retreat, with a focus on establishing a sense of safety and community.

DAY 02 / INNER HEALING
Day Two centers on introspection and emotional healing. The soldiers will engage in multiple therapy sessions, including group discussions and individual counseling, to begin processing their experiences. The day will also feature yoga on the beach and mindfulness practices to help soldiers reconnect with their bodies and emotions in a safe space. The day will conclude with a Shabbat dinner, fostering a sense of togetherness and reflection.

DAY 03 / COMMUNITY connection
On Day Three, the focus shifts to building connections and engaging with the local community. Art therapy sessions allows the soldiers to express their emotions creatively. Later in the day, they’ll have the opportunity to enjoy recreational activities, such as a visit to Sea World. The evening will culminate in a community BBQ, where soldiers and hosts can share stories and experiences, reinforcing the bonds formed during the retreat.
