Challah sliders
Ingredients:
For the Sliders:
1 loaf of challah
3 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works well)
1 cup BBQ sauce (or your favorite sauce)
6-8 slices of cheddar or provolone cheese
2 tbsp butter (melted)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried parsley (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Add-Ons:
Pickles or coleslaw for crunch
Caramelized onions for extra flavor
Jalapeños for a spicy kick
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Chicken:
In a bowl, toss the shredded chicken with the BBQ sauce until fully coated. Adjust the sauce amount to your taste.
Assemble the Sliders:
Slice the challah loaf in half horizontally. Place the bottom half on a baking sheet or in a large baking dish.
Evenly spread the BBQ chicken over the bottom layer of challah.
Lay the cheese slices on top of the chicken.
Place the top half of the challah over the cheese to create a slider "sandwich."
Add the Buttery Topping:
Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and parsley. Brush generously over the top of the challah.
Bake:
Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and the top is golden brown.
Serve:
Slice into individual sliders and serve warm. Add pickles or coleslaw for extra texture and flavor.
