Challah sliders

Ingredients:

For the Sliders:

  • 1 loaf of challah

  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works well)

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (or your favorite sauce)

  • 6-8 slices of cheddar or provolone cheese

  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried parsley (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Pickles or coleslaw for crunch

  • Caramelized onions for extra flavor

  • Jalapeños for a spicy kick

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare the Chicken:

    • In a bowl, toss the shredded chicken with the BBQ sauce until fully coated. Adjust the sauce amount to your taste.

  3. Assemble the Sliders:

    • Slice the challah loaf in half horizontally. Place the bottom half on a baking sheet or in a large baking dish.

    • Evenly spread the BBQ chicken over the bottom layer of challah.

    • Lay the cheese slices on top of the chicken.

    • Place the top half of the challah over the cheese to create a slider "sandwich."

  4. Add the Buttery Topping:

    • Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and parsley. Brush generously over the top of the challah.

  5. Bake:

    • Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and the top is golden brown.

  6. Serve:

    • Slice into individual sliders and serve warm. Add pickles or coleslaw for extra texture and flavor.
